Study: 69% of Moroccan Workers Seek New Jobs Amid Workplace Dissatisfaction

Nearly 69% of Moroccan employees intend to leave their job and look for new professional opportunities, reveals a study by the American analysis and consulting firm Gallup on the state of work in the world.
While unemployment remains endemic in Morocco, 69% of Moroccan employees say they are ready to leave their current job and look for new professional opportunities, according to this study which explains this trend by a dissatisfaction with working conditions on the part of these employees. In the MENA region, Morocco ranks second in terms of intention to change jobs, it is noted.
According to the report, only 16% of Moroccan employees say they thrive in their work. At the MENA region level, Morocco ranks 9th with a rate of 14% for this criterion. As for daily stress, Morocco ranks 9th, with a rate of 45%. The kingdom ranks 8th in terms of anger felt daily at work, with a rate of 34%.
As for the feeling of sadness in the workplace, around 29% of Moroccans say they experience it, placing Morocco in 8th place in the MENA region. Also, in terms of the work climate, 35% of Moroccans consider the current context conducive to finding a job.
The report also notes a significant decline in well-being among young people under 35. The cause is an imbalance between professional and personal life. In 2023, the overall well-being rate fell from 35% to 34%, the report notes, also pointing out that loneliness affects the lives of fully remote workers. 25% of them say they suffer from daily isolation, compared to 16% for on-site employees.
