Strong Winds Force Suspension of Ferry Services Between Spain and Morocco

Due to unfavorable weather conditions (gusts of wind and storm), several shipping companies connecting Morocco from Algeciras and Tarifa had to cancel or suspend their routes.
The fast ferries "Ciudad de Ceuta" of the shipping company Trasmediterránea, "Avemar Dos" of Balearia and "Levante Jet" of FRS had to cancel their connections with Morocco due to gusts of wind exceeding 60 km/h, indicated port sources to EFE, specifying that this situation has also forced the port of Tarifa (Cádiz) to completely suspend its connections to Tanger Med. Only the ship "Passió per Formentera" of Balearia, adapted to these types of situations, maintained its connections.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow alert in Ceuta due to a force 7 storm with easterly winds varying between 51 and 70 kilometers per hour. According to the oceanographic and meteorological forecasts of the Ceuta Port Authority, waves of nearly 4 meters high and winds of more than 55 kilometers per hour are expected this Wednesday in this area.
