Stray Cat Attack on Councilor Highlights Casablanca’s Animal Control Crisis

Casablanca is overrun by stray animals, threatening both residents and elected officials. The latest victim: Councilor Zahra Hanine, bitten by a cat in a restaurant. Outraged, she denounced this scourge at the municipal council, demanding urgent solutions.
"We need to find a radical solution. We are going to host the World Cup, and we cannot sit in a cafe with a cat jumping on you," she said to Alyaoum24.
The political leader, a doctor by profession, stated that she could have sued the city, but ultimately decided not to do so.
This is not an isolated case: a woman was attacked by dogs in Arrahama, and another even filed a complaint against the city for negligence. Faced with the outrage of the Casablancans, the city has renewed its contract with Casa Environnement for the management of stray animals, but this is not enough.
