Stranded Moroccan Tourist Faces Health Crisis in Manila Hotel Amid Travel Disruptions

Her stay in the Philippines turned into a nightmare. Trapped in a hotel in Manila, a Moroccan national, suffering from a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst, found herself without resources and deprived of food for 3 days.
Like thousands of Moroccans stranded abroad, Chaimaa, in her twenties, risks ending up on the street for lack of financial means. She and her cousin are stuck in Manila, after a short tourist stay at the beginning of March.
"I am unable to live in Manila; the conditions are deplorable," said the young woman whose state of health requires urgent medical care, due to chronic bleeding caused by an ovarian cyst.
Victim of fraud, Chaimaa has only her mobile phone to stay in touch with her family. Her situation is likely to worsen even more in the coming days, she confides, especially since the Moroccan embassy in Manila is not responding to her calls or those of dozens of Moroccans stranded at the hotel.
