Stade Rennais Signs Moroccan U23 Star Ibrahim Salah in Last-Minute Transfer Deal

A few minutes before the end of the winter transfer window, a surprise recruit joins the ranks of Stade Rennais from La Gantoise. It is the Moroccan youth international Ibrahim Salah.
The transfer of the Moroccan striker was made official in the night of January 31 to February 1, a few minutes after the departure of Kamaldeen Sulemana for Southampton. He is one of the Moroccan players transferred in the last hours of the opening of the transfer market, reports Ouest France.
Ibrahim Salah, who is part of the Moroccan U23 selection, has signed a 4.5-year contract with Stade Rennais who hopes he will achieve the same feats in Belgium with La Gantoise. The 21-year-old left winger has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 14 games played this season.
In a statement, Florian Maurice, the technical director of Stade Rennais, is delighted with the transfer of the Moroccan player. "He is a player we have been following for several months and who has shown very good things in the Belgian championship. He doesn’t have much experience, but we will see a player with incredible energy. He wants to work, to progress, he has this flame and this desire to go forward. He is a very good player, he is fast, he is technically good, he can play on a side or in the axis, I was surprised by what he showed with La Gantoise at the start of the season."
