Rennes Midfielder Ibrahim Salah Chooses Morocco Over Belgium for International Career

Less than a month after leaving La Gantoise for Stade Rennais, the Belgian-Moroccan Ibrahim Salah has chosen to join the Atlas Lions over the Red Devils. He explains his choice.
Between Morocco and Belgium, Ibrahim Salah has chosen his sporting nationality. He preferred Morocco, specifying that it is a choice of the heart and expresses his thanks to Belgium for having trained him. "I owe a lot to Belgium, because I was trained in this country and I was born there, but my choice is already made and it is Morocco," he said in an interview with DM Sport.
A choice that is never easy but that is explained: "I followed my heart, I want to play for Morocco to make my parents proud who were born there. I also want to make my family in Morocco happy, the Moroccan people and it would be with pride that I would wear this jersey."
Transferred at the beginning of February to Stade Rennais for a 4-year contract, the Moroccan player Ibrahim Salah has already distinguished himself by scoring a goal. The Rennais are expecting him to deploy the same potential that he had with La Gantoise. Moreover, according to many observers, the Moroccan winger is a promising player destined for great achievements in the world of football.
Before opting for Morocco, Ibrahim Salah played several times with the Moroccan under-23 national team. At 21 years old, the player was born and raised in Saint-Josse, Belgium.
