Spanish Terrorism Victims Demand Arrest of Polisario Leader Hospitalized in Spain

The hospitalization in Spain of Brahim Ghali prompted, on Saturday, a reaction from the Spanish victims of the acts of terrorism perpetrated by the Polisario. Through a statement, these victims denounce the decision of the Spanish authorities and demand the immediate arrest of the leader of the separatists.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Canarian Association of Victims of Terrorism (Acavite) demands the immediate arrest by the National Court of the Polisario leader, admitted to a Spanish hospital while he is the subject of an arrest warrant for terrorist attacks. According to the terms of the statement, Brahim Ghali is the main instigator of the "murders of Canarian workers" on the territory of the Sahara as well as the collective kidnappings and disappearances of Canarian sailors at sea between 1973 and 1986.

Not accepting the decision of the Spanish authorities to authorize the "illegal entry and hospitalization" in a public hospital of a person accused of having murdered Spanish citizens, Acavite considers that the fact of offering hospitality to Brahim Ghali constitutes a humiliation and a contempt for the families.

With 300 victims of Polisario terrorism, Acavite, supported by the National Federation of Victims of Spain, accuses the Spanish justice and government of participating in a "whitewashing of the terrorist actions" of Brahim Ghali. The association also calls on the Spanish authorities to come to the aid of the Canarians, victims of the acts of terror of the Polisario, rather than protecting a "criminal".

It should be noted that the Spanish political scientist, Pedro Ignacio Altamirano, also filed a complaint on Saturday through his lawyer with the investigating judge of the Malaga court against Brahim Ghali. In the same logic, the lawyers of the Sahrawi Association for the Defense of Human Rights (ASADEDH) have asked the Spanish authorities to activate the European arrest warrant issued against the said Brahim Ghali. On social networks, voices are also rising to demand the immediate arrest of the Polisario leader for various reasons, including death threats and defamation.

Brahim Ghali, 73 years old and suffering from stomach cancer and infected with Covid-19, is hospitalized in a hospital in Logrono, near Saragossa, under a false identity and with forged papers to escape Spanish justice. Information confirmed by the Spanish authorities.
