Polisario Front Leader Under Police Watch in Spanish Hospital Amid Legal Summons

For the past few days, officers have been assigned to the police station in the city of San Pedro to monitor the Logroño hospital where Brahim Ghali, the leader of the Polisario Front, is hospitalized.
The measure aims to ensure the security of Brahim Ghali, to be informed of his possible movements as well as the people accompanying him and to prevent any contact with unauthorized persons in his environment, according to police sources to La Razón.
According to some sources, the Polisario leader should respond to the summons of the judge on June 1, probably by videoconference. Information denied by the number two of the Front. But according to other sources from the separatist movement, their leader will appear before the National Court, out of respect for the Spanish justice system.
The publication of the information on Brahim Ghali’s refusal to testify and his possible return to Algeria has provoked a flood of reactions and comments. The Polisario leader was welcomed in Spain for "humanitarian reasons", the Spanish authorities have assured, which has generated a serious crisis with Morocco.
