Spanish-Swiss Man with Criminal Past Arrested in Morocco on Terrorism Charges

The man has a heavy criminal record, report several Spanish media. He had been convicted in several cases between 2007 and 2013, notably for theft, drug trafficking, assault and domestic violence. When the police suspect him of wanting to join radical groups, he takes the direction of Morocco in 2015 to settle there.
According to the Moroccan authorities, the man trained some of the accused in this case in communication tools via new applications and trained them in shooting, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) said in a press release.
For its part, the Swiss news agency ATS states that Spain and Switzerland are in very close contact with Morocco as part of this investigation, as is also the case for Denmark and Norway, the countries of origin of the two victims.
The two tourists, Danish Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, and Norwegian Maren Ueland, 28, had been killed on December 17 near Imlil, an area known for mountain tourism.
