Spanish Prodigy Lamine Yamal, 17, Set for Euro Final Showdown Against England

Lamine Yamal will blow out his 17 candles on Saturday, July 13. The Spanish striker of Moroccan origin will participate this Sunday in his first Euro final in Germany.
Architect of Spain’s victory over France (2-1) in the Euro semi-final with a superb goal, Lamine Yamal is part of the starting lineup that will face England this Sunday in the final in Berlin. But before this decisive match, the Barcelona prodigy celebrated his 17th birthday on Saturday.
Born in the Barcelona municipality of Esplugas de Llobregat to a Moroccan father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, the young striker remains very attached to his Moroccan roots. The Spanish international said in an interview with GQSpain on TikTok that he likes to enjoy traditional Moroccan dishes and that Moroccan mint tea is never missing from his table.
The young player also says he prefers chicken with peanut sauce, "a typical dish from Equatorial Guinea", his mother’s country of origin. "She prepares this dish for me before matches so that I can gain strength," said Yamal, who has made history in the European Championship as the youngest player and scorer.
