Spanish Priest Sparks Controversy with Anti-Muslim Sermon and Criticism of Turkish TV Shows

Father Emilio Montes, a priest in Valdepeñas (province of Ciudad Real), known for his controversial sermons on various controversial topics, has once again made headlines. In a recent homily, he attacked Muslims and Turkish series, denouncing the increase in this type of content on television.
"Who knows how we would be in Spain today if we had continued to be Muslims," said Father Montes in one of his sermons. And he added: "You can get an idea just by looking at Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria... But there is a country that I had not yet mentioned and for which I would also have a few words: Turkey. Turkish series are so fashionable now that they present everything so wonderful and beautiful, but it’s not as beautiful as it seems."

The priest did not stop at these criticisms of Muslims and Turkish series. He also took a few jabs at modern mothers. "When we were children, when the pacifier fell, our mothers didn’t make so much fuss. They poured a little water on it and put it back in our mouths. Not like now that they sterilize it. And yet, at three years old, they continue to give it to the children to play with," he argued.
Emilio Montes also charged his parishioners. "Since I arrived at the Bizum parish, some parishioners only give 6 euros," he told his parishioners. In another homily, he also talks about the coronavirus. "Then a virus comes, which can be destroyed with bleach, water and soap, and upsets the life of each of us," declared the parish priest of Valdepeñas who does not hesitate to give his opinion on all the burning issues of current events.
