The national police arrested a man in Zaragoza on Saturday in possession of fake prescriptions and about 2,000 Rivotril tablets, a drug used in the manufacture of karkoubi, also called "the drug of the poor".
Karkoubi is a very powerful drug that is the result of a mixture of psychotropics like Rivotril, hashish, alcohol or glue. It produces hallucinogenic effects on the user. It is a very widespread and consumed drug in poor regions of Morocco, which earns it the popular nickname of "the drug of the poor", reports Heraldo.

In recent years, the use of karkoubi has spread in Spain, especially among young people. The Aragon police prefecture has already called on pharmacies to be vigilant and contact the national police in case of doubt about the authenticity of a prescription to avoid the illegal purchase of Rivotril, the excessive consumption of which can be harmful to health.
