Spanish Police Bust Major Morocco-Spain Drug Trafficking Ring, 17 Arrested

The Civil Guard has this week dismantled a network of cocaine and hashish traffickers from Morocco to southern Spain. In total, 17 people, including Moroccans, were arrested.
The Civil Guard arrested these 17 drug traffickers during an operation that took place this week. Among them are six Moroccans, Europol said in a statement, specifying that the alleged leader of the organization, considered "one of the largest importers of cocaine and hashish from Morocco to the Iberian Peninsula", was also arrested.

The network used speedboats to transport the drugs via the Mediterranean and then distribute them in Europe, the same source adds, noting that assets worth more than $6.8 million were seized during the operation, including 26 cars, eight properties and 10 luxury watches.
The Spanish police suspect this group to be behind the shipment of 4.3 tons of hashish and 1.3 tons of cocaine that had been intercepted earlier this year in southern Spain.
