The Civil Guard has carried out an operation to dismantle a major criminal organization specialized in drug trafficking from Morocco to the Spanish coasts of Cadiz and Huelva. In total, 42 people were arrested and six tons of Moroccan hashish seized.
The operation began last August when the Civil Guard intercepted 1,740 kilograms of hashish on a boat off Chipiona. The dismantled criminal organization, very active on the coasts of Huelva, was led by the drug trafficker known as El Carpintero, reports 20minutos.

After several investigations, the Civil Guard agents requested the court to issue 28 search warrants in the towns of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Chipiona, Jerez and the port of Santa Maria. The operation made it possible to arrest about forty members of the network and seize more than six tons of Moroccan hashish, 52,000 euros in cash, 10 vehicles, electronic and computer equipment, as well as a large quantity of documents.
The leader of the group, El Carpintero, was later located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where he remained hidden. The drug trafficker hardly ever left his hiding place, and if he had to, he wore glasses and a cap so as not to be identified.
