Spanish Police Arrest Three Suspects in Bilbao Teen Rape Case, Fourth Remains at Large

Three individuals, including two Moroccans, aged 18 and 20 respectively, were arrested by the Spanish police. They are being prosecuted for the rape of a 17-year-old teenager in the city of Bilbao. A total of four individuals are involved in this crime.
According to the daily El Espagnol, a case of rape of a 17-year-old minor broke out on Monday, June 24, 2019, in the city of Bilbao. Two young Moroccans were arrested the same day, while an individual, aged 35, whose nationality has not been disclosed, was apprehended the next day. A fourth person is still at large.
An investigation initiated by the Attorney General’s Office is currently being conducted by the police services to determine the circumstances of the rape and to find the fourth suspect. The City Council has strongly condemned the aggression of the young teenager and expressed its "deep indignation".
The three suspects face prison sentences of up to 12 years, according to the Spanish Criminal Code. Indeed, this text punishes sexual assaults with sentences of 1 to 5 years in prison. But in the case of confirmed rape, the sentences range from 6 to 12 years in prison.
