Spanish Police Arrest Four in Melilla for Exploiting Undocumented Moroccan Teen

The Spanish police have arrested four people in Melilla for labor exploitation of an irregular Moroccan girl in Spain. The young girl was forced to do domestic chores for nearly three years.
The suspects were arrested at the end of an investigation carried out by the Unit against Illegal Immigration Networks and Forged Documents (UCRIF) which was alerted by the Ministry of Family about the victim’s situation, who arrived in Melilla in 2019 from Morocco.
From a fraternity of eleven brothers and sisters, the young girl has family ties with the couple who exploited her in the work, forcing her to carry out all the domestic tasks in the house and in that of the woman’s mother, for a monthly salary of about a hundred euros in which she had to ensure her catering.
The minor had practically no contact with people outside the couple’s home. She went out very little, except to do the shopping. In these cases, she was accompanied by one of the couple’s daughters because she only speaks Tamazight and has never been to school.
After a three-year stay at the couple’s home where she was exploited, the minor was sent back by the latter and abandoned to her fate. She was later recruited by a Spanish woman living in the city who also exploited her for a month before expelling her. The Court of First Instance of Melilla took charge of the case.
