Spanish Navy Resupplies Disputed Islands Near Morocco

The Spanish Navy has sent for the third time this year the auxiliary ship Mar Caribe near Moroccan waters. The objective is to supply water, fuel and various equipment to the military detachments on the Spanish islands and rocks claimed by Morocco.
The ship provided these supplies to the troops stationed on the Chafarinas Islands and the island of Alboran, as well as the rocks of Al Hoceima and Vélez de la Gomera, between October 2 and 22, relays Infodefensa.com. The ship transported a total of more than 1,562 tons of water, 91,280 liters of fuel, as well as 85.5 tons of military equipment.
The Mar Caribe was supported in its mission by a Chinook helicopter from the army’s air mobility forces (FAMET) which facilitated the transport of equipment to the rocks of Al Hoceima and Vélez de la Gomera. During its journey, this ship, designed for logistical support operations, made several stopovers in Ceuta, Melilla and Cartagena, it is specified.
