Spanish National Arrested in Tangier for Alleged Minor Rape and Fraud Scheme

A case of rape of a minor is shaking the city of Tangier, with the opening of a judicial investigation against a man of Spanish nationality. There is also a case of fraud.
The case is detailed in a press release from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN). "The Prefectural Judicial Police Service of Tangier received a complaint filed by two individuals, one Moroccan and the other French, claiming to be victims of fraud by the accused who had asked them for financial contributions of a social nature on behalf of an association, while handing them counterfeit honorary certificates".
The DGSN does not give the identity of the person implicated but it is very likely that it is a certain Félix R. who had made the headlines of the Moroccan and Spanish press, following cases of extortion of funds, having affected many people, both in Spain and in Morocco. The man was in the habit of distributing fictitious distinctions by claiming his proximity to the Spanish royal family and to high-ranking Moroccan and Spanish officials.
"The suspect is also the subject of a complaint filed by a 20-year-old Moroccan young man, who accuses him in particular of rape in 2014 when he was still a minor and a resident of a charitable institution," the DGSN press release said.
He was placed in custody as part of the investigation, pending "elucidating the ins and outs of this case," the Police Directorate statement said.
