Spanish Military Exercises in Ceuta Draw Attention Amid Morocco Tensions

The military maneuvers usually carried out in Ceuta and which went unnoticed, attracted particular interest on Wednesday due to the diplomatic crisis between Morocco and Spain.
The passage of military aircraft in the sky of Ceuta has attracted more than usual attention from the residents of Ceuta, in these moments of tension between Spain and Morocco. In reality, these are military maneuvers carried out by the army at Monte Hacho, with aircraft and anti-aircraft guns, reports El Faro de Ceuta.
According to the General Command of Ceuta (COMGECEU), these maneuvers are carried out by the mixed artillery regiment of the air force of the city, with C-101 training aircraft, manufactured in Spain by the CASA company.
The presence of these aircraft fueled the rumors, in view of the massive arrival in Ceuta, between May 17 and 19, of thousands of Moroccan migrants, causing an unprecedented migration crisis between Morocco and Spain. On both sides of the border, in Morocco as in Spain, security agents have been instructed to be vigilant and prevent such incidents from recurring.
