Spanish Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Murder of Moroccan in Valencia Theft Gone Wrong

A Spaniard has just been sentenced in Spain to a prison sentence for murdering a Moroccan in Valencia. His wife is also being prosecuted for her involvement in this affair, a theft that went wrong.

The Spanish media evante-emv.com indicates that a Spanish national has been sentenced to serve 18 years in prison in a case of murder of a Moroccan national in Valencia. The criminal’s wife was also tried for helping him get rid of the Moroccan’s body, Khalid Azzakhamam, and for not reporting her husband’s crime. She was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

The case dates back to 2017. The two Spaniards, Javier and Anna, learned that the Moroccan always had large sums of money on him, as he worked in the used electronics trade, often of dubious origin. That’s when the husband decided to set a trap for him.

He lured the Moroccan by telling him he wanted to sell him stolen phones. The latter agreed to see the merchandise at Javier’s home. There, the Spaniard asked the Moroccan to empty his pockets. He refused. So the Spaniard stabbed him in the back, causing his death.

Far from being shaken by this death, the husband and wife took possession of his phone and the sum of 1,400 euros he had on him, stripped him of his clothes, tied his hands and feet (the media does not specify why) and threw the body in the backyard of the house, where it remained for a long time with only rats to keep it company, feasting on the remains.

The strangest thing about this case is that the man confessed to the murder of the Moroccan during a television program about the homeless and marginalized. It was following this report that he was arrested and detained. The Moroccan’s body had been found several months after his death.
