Moroccan Resident in Spain Jailed for Attempted Border Bribery in Ceuta

Accused of attempted bribery, a Moroccan living in Spain was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison. This is the sentence of a Spanish court in the enclave of Ceuta.
An attempted bribery that did not work out for him. According to the facts, this Moroccan living in Spain tried to transfer 35,000 euros from Morocco to Ceuta.
While a police officer questioned him about the origin of the sum, the Moroccan Resident Abroad (MRE) offered him 50 euros in exchange for his silence, asking him to let him cross the border, reports Ceuta TV.
This proposal did not receive the approval of the sworn officer. Immediately, he informed his superiors and reported the Moroccan for corruption.
The case was brought before the competent courts. At the end of the trial held at the Provincial Court of Cadiz on September 25, the Court sentenced the defendant to one year and nine months in prison.
Thanks to a negotiation with the Spanish authorities, the MRE will not serve this prison sentence, but the attempted bribery will be recorded in his criminal record.
