Spanish Hotel Chain Silken Expands to Morocco with Three New Resorts

The Silken hotel chain plans to build three new units in Morocco, specifically in Tangier, Marrakech and Dakhla, within two years. The company already operates 35 establishments in Spain.
Silken wants to settle in Morocco. The hotel chain has signed an agreement with a Moroccan real estate partner to create three units in Tangier, Marrakech and Dakhla, tourist cities par excellence. If the work progresses normally, without being affected by the health crisis, the three establishments will be able to open their doors between the second half of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024.
"The return to the international scene responds to a selective growth plan, which involves the management of hotels located in prime locations, with unique design and architecture... We will be faithful to our philosophy and the traits that distinguish our brand," said Javier Villanueva, CEO of Silken, to Ejeprime.

At the beginning of this year, the chain acquired, under management, three new hotels in Tenerife, Vigo and Laguardia (Vitoria), and plans to open a second hotel in Estepona (Málaga) before the end of the year. The company also announces the opening of a new establishment in Platja d’Aro (Girona) in 2023.
"We are growing in a time of uncertainty, in which companies in the sector are reducing their portfolios. This is proof of the strength of our business model," notes Villanueva, specifying that Silken has 35 establishments in Spain, including 17 under lease contract, 7 that it operates, 10 under management and one, that of Valencia, which belongs to it.
