Spanish Foreign Minister to Make First Non-European Visit to Morocco
The new Spanish Foreign Minister, Arancha Gonzalez Laya, will make an official visit to Morocco on January 24.
The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to meet, during her visit to Rabat, her Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, according to the Spanish media.
This visit by Arancha Gonzalez Laya is her first trip outside Europe as Foreign Minister.
This Sunday, the minister is expected in Brussels to attend a ceremony in memory of the Holocaust, before participating on Monday in a meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council, the same sources specify.
Her predecessor, Josep Borrell, had also reserved Morocco for his first trip abroad as Foreign Minister.
