Morocco and Spain Seek Agreement on Maritime Border Delimitation

Morocco and Spain are ready to continue the dialogue to settle the issue of the delimitation of maritime borders.
Spain immediately reacted to Morocco’s decision to adopt two decrees to restore its maritime borders with Spain.
On Twitter, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha Gonzalez, clearly reassured that the two countries will reach an agreement on the limits of their maritime borders, in accordance with the applicable international legislation.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, this is a sovereign decision. "Morocco has the right to have its own exclusive economic zone," she specified.
Even before her latest tweet, the Spanish Minister had stated that Madrid and Rabat had discussed the issue in recent weeks. According to Minister Bourita, there will be no policy of fait accompli or unilateral decisions. "These are reassuring words intended for those who were expressing doubts," the Moroccan minister noted.
