Spanish Enclaves Ceuta and Melilla Face Economic Crisis as Morocco Keeps Borders Closed

The presidents of Ceuta and Melilla have invited the Moroccan government to reopen the borders giving access to the enclaves, at the risk of suffocating and isolating their economy.
The restrictions imposed by the Moroccan government and the constant closure of the borders are causing enormous difficulties to these two enclaves. This situation has also prevented several "mule" women from selling their goods outside the Spanish enclave, report some Spanish media.
Since October 9th last, the border post giving access to the enclave of Sebta is impassable, by unilateral decision of Morocco.
To this effect, the president of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, and his counterpart, Eduardo de Castro of Melilla, have exposed the economic difficulties experienced by their two cities since Morocco’s decision to suspend the flow of goods between the two borders. They clearly indicated that they are going through an unprecedented crisis.
