Spanish Enclaves Ceuta and Melilla Extend Morocco Border Closure Despite EU Reopening

While Europe has decided to open its borders with Morocco on July 1st, Ceuta and Melilla want to derogate from the rule. The two Spanish enclaves have decided to keep their borders with the kingdom closed until July 9th.
The extension of this closure will depend on the Moroccan decision, which is still awaited, recalls the local site Ceutaeldia. These two enclaves have decided to keep their borders closed as of July 1st, until July 9th, the eve of the lifting of the state of emergency in Morocco.
According to the same media, the decision was published in the Official Gazette of the State on Monday, June 29th, and it cannot be reviewed or modified to respond to the new recommendations of the European Union.
Morocco is on the first list of fifteen countries selected by the European Union. As for the United States, Russia and Brazil, they are not yet on the list "for fear of new outbreaks".
It should be recalled that this list is expected to be validated as of July 1st, the date on which the opening of the borders of the Old Continent will take place. It will be reviewed periodically, according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation.
