Spanish Consul General's Phone Stolen in Rabat, Two Suspects Arrested

A snatching theft whose victim is none other than the Spanish Consul General has just taken place in Rabat. The thieves would be two people, including an engineering student.

As he was leaving his workplace, the Spanish Consul General in Morocco was the victim of a snatching theft, by an individual who took his mobile phone from him before fleeing with another individual who was accompanying him. One of them was wearing traditional white clothes. In other words, he was probably not intending to commit a snatching theft...

Thanks to the testimony of a woman, the two individuals were then arrested by the law enforcement. They also proceeded to the arrest of a car guard to whom one of the thieves had handed over the phone.

One of them turned out to be an engineering student, in his third year. His "accomplice" would even have claimed that he had been the only one to steal, that the engineering student had nothing to do with it and did not even know about it. But they were two to appear before the judge on Wednesday.

Article19 writes on this subject: "After a few hours of research, the police managed to arrest the engineering student and seize a knife, which was in his possession, before proceeding in Hay Ennahda to the arrest of the 2nd suspect and a car guard to whom one of the thieves had entrusted the stolen phone".

The public prosecutor decided to release the car guard.
