Spanish Authorities Place Children of Murdered Moroccan Mother Under State Guardianship

The three children of the Moroccan woman slaughtered on Monday by her husband at their home in La Vila Joiosa (Murcia) have been placed under the guardianship of the Valencia region, pending a decision on their care by a family member.
The victim, Z. B., aged 40, left three children, two girls and a boy, aged 14, 10 and 3 respectively. As minors, they have been placed under the guardianship of the Generalitat of Valencia and will receive medical and psychological assistance, pending a decision on which family member they will be entrusted to.
Several direct relatives, both on the paternal and maternal sides, have already expressed their intention to take care of these minor orphans so that they can continue to live in the city and benefit from social services. For the moment, they are living with an uncle who lives not far from where they lived with their late mother, according to Informacion. But it has not yet been decided that this will be their permanent residence.
The Deputy Government Delegate, Araceli Poblador, and the Mayor of La Vila, Andreu Verdú, have assured for their part that the final decision will be the one that guarantees the minors "a better future" and offers them "the best protection".
