Domestic Violence Tragedy: Man Kills Wife, Commits Suicide in Spanish Town

A Moroccan man committed suicide on Monday by jumping off a bridge, after slitting his wife’s throat at their home in La Vila Joiosa (Murcia region). This is the first sexist murder recorded in the province since the beginning of this year.
The lifeless body of the 40-year-old woman was discovered after the administration of the school attended by their three children aged 3, 10 and 14 alerted the Civil Guard that no one had come to pick them up at the end of the day. The victim, Z.B, was slashed on Monday morning at her home by her husband, Omar B., aged 52, who then committed suicide a few hours later by jumping off a bridge in the town of Vilaro. However, no complaint of ill-treatment had been filed by the victim with the Civil Guard before her death, according to Informacion.
The sub-delegation of the government in Alicante and the town hall observed a minute of silence on Tuesday in memory of the victim. This sexist crime is the first recorded in the province since the beginning of this year.

An ambulance from the SAMU went to the Tram bridge in La Vila Joiosa from where the victim’s husband jumped, at a height of about 30 meters. The health team confirmed the death of the Moroccan who, after verification by the Civil Guard agents, did not have any identity documents on him. The La Vila court authorized the removal of the body, which was then transferred to the Alicante Forensic Institute for the autopsy.
The woman’s body, recovered by the funeral home staff after inspection of the premises by the judicial police and the forensic laboratory of the Civil Guard, was also transferred to the same institute for an autopsy.
