A makeshift boat carrying about twenty migrants, including a majority of minors, was intercepted on Thursday by the Spanish authorities in Ceuta.
Of Moroccan nationality, these migrants had left that morning despite the storm, reports the local newspaper El Faro de Ceuta, before running aground near the town of Benzu.
Visibly weakened, some of them suffering from hypothermia, the migrants were all taken care of by the police services and then the Red Cross.
The two adults are to be repatriated to Morocco as soon as their health allows, while the 20 minors will be transported to the Ceuta minors’ center where many Moroccans are already located.
