Spain worried to see Brahim Diaz choose Morocco

A Spanish media regrets that Brahim Diaz will probably end up choosing to join the Atlas Lions to the detriment of La Roja, blaming the Spanish federation for having neglected the Real Madrid midfielder at a time when Morocco has multiplied initiatives to try to convince him.
Aware of Brahim Diaz’s abilities and performances, "Marca" believes that his integration into the Moroccan team would be a loss for Spain. "Either things change, or Diaz will soon wear the Moroccan jersey, which is regrettable, because he is a unique player, unmatched in Spanish football," lamented the Spanish media in an article published on Friday.
For several years, the Spanish federation has only neglected Diaz, while Morocco has maintained its contacts with the Real Madrid star to convince him to join the Atlas Lions. "Diaz had been waiting for ’La Roja’ for a long time, but he has not been approached by the Spanish team when he wore the number 10 at Milan, let alone now that he has become a starter at Madrid, while Morocco has not stopped trying to convince him," the publication specifies.
"If De la Fuente really wants to count on him, it would be negligent not to put an end to Morocco’s insistence," added Marca, urging the governing bodies of Spanish football to get in touch with Diaz to convince him to join La Roja, as Lamine Yamal has done. According to the latest news, Brahim Diaz has already agreed to wear the Moroccan jersey and should announce his decision on his social networks in the coming days.
The Moroccan Federation has already informed Real Madrid of Diaz’s call-up for the friendly matches against Angola and Mauritania, scheduled for March 22 and 26 at the Grand Stadium in Agadir. The integration of the player into the Moroccan team is only a matter of days, barring a twist of fate. The FRMF would have already had him issued a Moroccan passport. Meanwhile, the Spanish federation is trying to thwart Morocco’s plans by also listing Diaz’s name on the pre-list of players called up for the international break.
