The resurgence of tensions between Morocco and the Polisario is provoking reactions. Spain is calling on the two parties to resume the negotiation process.
In a statement signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spain, the former colonial power in the Sahara "urges the parties to resume the negotiation process and move towards a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution."
"The Spanish government supports the efforts of the United Nations Secretary-General to ensure respect for the ceasefire in Western Sahara," the ministry added, recalling that Spain has taken steps in this direction in recent days, calling for responsibility and restraint.
