"Our diplomatic relations remain intact, our ambassador is still in Rabat. The decision to return to normal functioning of the Moroccan embassy in Madrid now rests solely with the Moroccan authorities," concluded José Manuel Albares.
The entry into Spain, last April, of Brahim Ghali, the leader of the Polisario Front, had provoked a serious diplomatic crisis with Morocco. This was followed by an unprecedented migration crisis caused by the massive arrival in May of several thousand Moroccan migrants in Ceuta.
