Spain’s PM Sanchez Urges Support for Morocco in Combating Illegal Immigration Mafias

Morocco remains a transit point for candidates for illegal immigration. In the face of the recent events in Nador that resulted in loss of life, the head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, called for support for Morocco, which is facing enormous difficulties with illegal immigration.
According to Pedro Sanchez, "the human trafficking mafias are the main culprits of what happened in Nador. They are the ones who carried out a violent attack, as shown by the images circulating on the web and social networks," stressed the head of the Spanish Executive, who deplores the deaths that occurred during this assault and took the opportunity to express his solidarity with their families. "We must put ourselves in the shoes of the Spanish security forces [...] and the Moroccan public forces," who suffered serious damage following this violent attack, he argued.
Whatever the reasons, illegal immigration concerns all countries and strategies for effective fighting must be rethought by all, so that the tragedies of the nature of that of Nador can be avoided, he said.
"Spain and the EU are called upon to increase development aid to countries of origin and transit that suffer from this phenomenon. We must work with the countries of origin and those of transit, namely Morocco, to provide a comprehensive response to a phenomenon as complex as irregular immigration," insists the head of government.
