Spain’s Sánchez Seeks to Mend Ties with Morocco, Calls for Renewed Cooperation

The head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, wants to ease the tension between Spain and Morocco and resume cooperation between the two countries.

There is much more that unites us than divides us and we must resume this dialogue, this cooperation that has characterized Spain and Morocco for many years," said Pedro Sánchez, during the press conference he jointly hosted with the President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado, at the end of a meeting held in San José.

The head of the Spanish government also stressed that the problems affecting Spain’s borders also affect those of Europe.
These statements come after the European Parliament voted a resolution against Morocco which "used minors" to put pressure on Spain, which, according to the institution, "is counterproductive and detrimental to any way out of the crisis".
