Spain’s Opposition Slams EU Aid to Morocco Amid Border Dispute

Popular Party (PP) deputy Isabel Moreno said that the 500 million euros in aid that Morocco will receive from Europe for border control is proof that the kingdom "is taking advantage of the weakness of the Spanish government".
Moreno believes it is not fair that Morocco continues to receive funding from Europe, while nothing is moving in Melilla regarding the gradual reopening of the border, considered "the solution to Melilla’s problems".
"Nothing has been said about territorial waters and we know nothing about commercial customs," denounced Moreno, specifying that the Popular Party is not against the fact that Europe collaborates and maintains good relations with Morocco, "but the higher interest of Spain must be preserved".
