Spain Extends Schengen Border Closure with Morocco Until January 31

Spain’s borders will remain closed until January 31st. This is the decision of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior.
The information was made public this Wednesday. Spain is extending the closure of its external borders of the Schengen area, including the border crossing points separating Ceuta and Melilla from Morocco, until January 31, 2021. This decree from the Spanish government, relayed by El Faro de Ceuta, thus extends by one month the decree in force until this Thursday, the last day of the year 2020.
However, this decision provides for exceptions and the entry of citizens or residents of the Schengen area, border workers, students with their corresponding visas, health professionals, including researchers in the health field. Professionals in the care of the elderly who go to work or return from it, personnel in charge of the transport of goods, military, diplomatic or consular personnel can also travel.
These provisions do not change the previous measures related to the coronavirus pandemic, notes the same source.
