The Moroccan women’s futsal team lost a friendly match against their Spanish counterparts in Las Rozas. Clàudia Pons’ team corrected the Atlas Lionesses by 10 goals to 1.
The Moroccans ran into a solid and energetic Spanish team that showed them no mercy. The Spanish players dominated the match from start to finish, easily breaking through the Moroccan defense. The Spaniards opened the scoring after just seven minutes of play thanks to a collective move finished off by Noelia Montoro.
The Atlas Lionesses did not take long to react, scoring the equalizing goal with a powerful right-footed shot from Nassima Jawad. Fifteen minutes later, the Spaniards regained the lead by scoring three goals in a row. Laura Fernadez and Irene Cordoba (a brace) were the architects. Before halftime, the score was 4-1.
In the second half, Clàudia Pons’ team maintained their pressure on the Moroccan team, keeping possession. The Moroccans, who struggled to keep up the pace, ended up conceding two more goals, making the score 6-1 in Spain’s favor.
Irene Córdoba, who gave the Moroccan defense nightmares, scored the seventh and eighth goals, completing a quadruple. Antía and Peque, authors of the last two goals, sealed the fate of the Moroccans, who lost by a resounding score of 10 goals to 1.
