Morocco Faces Tough Test Against Portugal in Futsal World Cup Clash

After its victories over Tajikistan (4-2) and Panama (6-3), the Moroccan futsal team will face Portugal in its third match of the 2024 World Cup, which is being held from September 14 to October 6 in Uzbekistan. Portuguese coach Jorge Braz believes this match "will not be easy".
"I talk to Mr. Hicham Dguig (coach of the Moroccan team) from time to time, what he is doing with Morocco is impressive," said Jorge Braz in a press conference after his team’s victory over Tajikistan (3-2) and their qualification for the round of 16, just like the Moroccan team. He is full of praise for the Atlas Lions. "I have great respect for the Moroccan team [...] with its personality, enthusiasm and sense of risk when faced with difficulties during matches, as well as its style of play. I really like this team because of the remarkable work that has been done, especially at the last African Cup of Nations, which the Moroccan team won," added the Portuguese coach.
The last match of Group E will pit Morocco against Portugal on Sunday, September 22. The match will not be easy, even though the two teams have already secured their place in the next round, said Jorge Braz. "The match against Morocco will not be easy," insists the coach of the Portuguese team. In the last World Cup edition, our confrontation ended in a draw (3-3 in 2021 in Lithuania). "We want to secure the first place in the group, and Morocco wants it too. It will be a great futsal match."
