Spain Deploys AI-Powered Drones to Boost Border Security with Morocco

The Civil Guard has deployed in Melilla drones equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology to strengthen surveillance and security at the land and maritime border with Morocco.
These Matrice 300RTK unmanned aerial vehicles have a large capacity and are equipped with artificial intelligence technology, the Melilla Civil Guard Command said in a statement. These drones are managed by the Halcón unit, responsible for the management, control and operation of the Civil Guard’s drones, reports EFE.
The members of this unit have undergone a three-day training program (theoretical and practical) on the handling of these devices, delivered by specialized agents from the Air Service of the Civil Guard, based in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).
Thanks to their advanced technology, these drones allow to obtain precise and high-quality aerial images and to maintain a direct connection with the operational service center (COS). They will be of great "utility" at the border, the armed institute assured.
