Spain Conducts Military Exercises Near Moroccan Border

Spanish army helicopters flew over the border with Morocco this week as part of joint military exercises. These maneuvers, which are also taking place in Melilla, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, aim to assert the Spanish presence in these strategic territories.
Organized by the Spanish army, the operations include signaling, troop embarkation and disembarkation exercises. The objective is clear: to maintain a high level of operational readiness to deal with any eventuality, according to El Debate.
The Ceuta Tactical Group, an elite army unit, is also participating in these "presence, surveillance and deterrence" operations throughout the city’s territory. The Spanish Defense Staff has also taken to social media to reassure the population: "We permanently guarantee the security and well-being of our citizens".
This permanent military deployment, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, is part of a global strategy to secure the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla, considered as nerve centers by Madrid.
