Spain can still select Brahim Diaz

Luis de la Fuente, national coach of Spain, wanted to clarify the situation of Brahim Díaz, who has decided to play for Morocco.
The Real Madrid player sent an official document on March 9 renouncing to play for Spain, saying he was "happy" with his decision.
In a press conference, De la Fuente refuted the idea that Díaz had set conditions to play for Spain. "No player can demand anything," he hammered. "It was clear that he wanted to play for Morocco and that’s his choice."
The coach recalled that he does not "contact any player" and that he only speaks "to the injured", stressing that Díaz has never played an official match for Morocco, which allows him to change his sports nationality.
De la Fuente does not rule out calling on Díaz in the future, but he insisted that the player "must want to come", recalling that out of 115 players likely to play for Spain, "more than 100" want to play with the Roja.
The Spanish technician concluded by stating that the success is that Díaz played with Spain at 15 years old. "Everyone is where they want to be," he said. "Losing Brahim is not a failure, it’s his choice."
