Spain and Morocco will become one, the Strait of Gibraltar will close

In the past, all continents were united in one: Pangaea. As the Earth is constantly evolving, at some point, all continents will reunite again. Researchers indicate that the first stage of the destruction of the Iberian peninsula will occur in 12 million years, when the Andalusian coast will be completely connected to Morocco and Algeria, relays Ok Diario.

The process of unification of the continents will then accelerate to result in the formation of a new Pangaea, it is specified, adding that the Mediterranean Sea and the Levantine coast will also disappear in the process. Within 30 million years, Africa and Eurasia will be completely reunited, the scientists assure, even predicting the total disappearance of human life on Earth.

After the formation of the new Pangaea, the current Spain will find itself in the northernmost part of the planet, note the scientists who also announce climate changes during the process. Temperatures will rise considerably and regularly exceed 40 degrees in most of the world, they warn.

Thus, only 8 to 16% of the Earth’s surface will be habitable, a situation that will inevitably lead to the disappearance of many living beings, especially mammals.
