South Africa Stuns Morocco 2-1 in AFCON Qualifier Match

The surge of pride did not take place today for Morocco. The Atlas Lions lost this Saturday against the South African team, in front of their home crowd.
The first goal of this match was scored involuntarily by goalkeeper Mounir Mohammadi, in the 5th minute. Then it was Zakhele Lepasa who increased South Africa’s lead in the 48th minute. The only Moroccan goal of this match was scored by Hakim Ziyech in the 60th minute.
Despite the outcome of the match, let’s remember that the stakes of this match were relatively limited. Indeed, the two teams were already assured of their place in the next Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Moroccan selection will host Liberia for the 6th and final round of these qualifiers. Appointment on September 4.
