Morocco to Face Burkina Faso in Friendly Match in France, First in 16 Years

The Moroccan national football team will play a friendly match against Burkina Faso, according to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). This duel between the Atlas Lions and the Stallions will be held at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens, France, on September 12, 2023 at 8:30 pm local time.
In order to better prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Côte d’Ivoire, the Moroccan team is in an intensive preparation phase. Thus, after matches against Cape Verde and South Africa, the protégés of Walid Regragui will conclude their series of qualifying matches against Liberia.
This will be the first time in 16 years that the Atlas Lions will play a match in France, the last one dating back to November 21, 2007 against Senegal. The last confrontation between the two teams took place in Marrakech on June 12, 2021, with a Moroccan victory 1-0.
