Morocco Faces Liberia in Final CAN 2024 Qualifier Match

Morocco, already qualified, will face Liberia on September 9 for the last round of the qualifiers for the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN-Côte d’Ivoire 2023).
The match between the Atlas Lions and the Lone Stars will take place on September 9 at the Grand Stade d’Agadir, said the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), adding that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Mauritian referee Ahmed Imtehaz Heerellal to officiate this match. Already qualified for the 2024 CAN, Walid Regragui’s protégés will have to beat Liberia to finish top of Group K. Their dearest wish is to win the tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.
The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will be held in Côte d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024. On the infrastructure side, everything seems ready. "The country is ready, the authorities have gone all out and we are ready to face the challenges," said Idriss Diallo, president of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF), in July. Paulin Claude Danho, Ivorian Minister of Sports, also assured that "the six stadiums that will host the competition are now up to international standards thanks to a major renovation or refurbishment to strengthen the qualitative level".
