Small Plane Crashes Near Fez Airport, Two Crew Members Seriously Injured
An investigation has been opened by the authorities following the crash of a small plane that occurred this Friday afternoon. The accident occurred near the Fez-Saïss airport around 4:30 p.m., mobilizing significant rescue and security resources, including elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, local authorities and civil protection. The accident site has been secured.
The damaged aircraft was carrying a crew of two people, a pilot and a co-pilot, who were going to Fez, according to a source quoted by Al3omk, to pick up "special guests". For reasons yet to be determined, the plane crashed before reaching the airport. The hypothesis of bad weather conditions as a contributing factor was suggested by the same source.
The two crew members were seriously injured. They were evacuated to a private hospital in Fez for treatment.
