Seville Protesters Challenge Spain’s Shift on Western Sahara Autonomy Plan

The Association of Friendship with the Sahrawi People of Seville has called for a demonstration against Spain’s decision to support Morocco’s autonomy plan for the Sahara.
The association invites the residents of Seville to a protest movement tomorrow Tuesday, at Las Setas starting at 7:00 p.m., against this decision by the government of Pedro Sánchez to support the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara, which it considers the "most serious, realistic and credible" solution to the conflict, reports Europa Press.

The association "rejects" this position of the Spanish authorities who have abandoned their "traditional position of neutrality" to now "side with Rabat". "We demand respect for international legality, UN resolutions, the official recognition of the historical responsibilities of the Spanish state in the conflict of Western Sahara and the reparation of the damage caused to the Sahrawi people," the association said.
The association therefore calls for a general mobilization "in support of the Sahrawi people and their just struggle for freedom and independence".
