Youssef En Nesyri, 25, is an indispensable player today for FC Seville. The newspaper Marca has just made a portrait of him, describing him as a mysterious personality with an atypical career.
Despite an introverted nature that makes him reluctant to social interactions outside his close circle, his talent has earned the respect and admiration of his team, writes Marca. Off the field, En Nesyri is a FIFA video game maestro, a good cook, and very pious. He doesn’t have a driver’s license, but he is often driven to training by Juan Martagón, a former player and team delegate.
En Nesyri started his football career on the streets of his hometown, Fez, before being recruited by the Mohammed VI Academy in Casablanca. It was there that he forged himself as a person and perfected his football qualities. Later, he was recruited by Malaga for 125,000 euros (the club continues to receive a percentage of his transfers). He began to stand out as a promising striker, despite some flaws in his finishing that he has worked a lot on.
With his training, En Nesyri has gained strength, particularly in the air game, which earned him the nickname "Air" En Nesyri. During the World Cup in Qatar, he broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s record by jumping to a height of 2.78 meters, 90 centimeters more than his height. This impressive performance allowed him to score the only goal of the match that allowed Morocco to qualify for the semi-finals.
En Nesyri had a brief experience at Chelsea’s academy in England before going to Spain. The cold and atmosphere in England did not suit him and he finally found his place in Seville, where he lives near the stadium and seems to be happy.
Despite his successes, En Nesyri has experienced difficult periods, especially at the start of the 21/22 and 22/23 seasons. But he always finds comfort in the support of his family. His love for his only nephew, Amir, is so strong that he has already paid tribute to the child by drawing an "A" in his hair.
