Senior US Diplomat to Visit Morocco on Middle East Tour

Joey Hood, Acting US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, will travel to Morocco in the coming days as part of a regional tour covering the period from July 24 to 29.
In a statement, the US State Department says that the Acting US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Joey Hood, will travel to Algeria, Morocco and Kuwait starting this Saturday until July 29. In Algeria, the first stop of this tour, the senior US official will meet with the country’s leaders to discuss bilateral and regional relations, as well as to announce a major cultural preservation project.
In Morocco, Joey Hood will meet with government representatives, local business leaders and members of civil society, the same source specifies. Another item on the agenda of this tour: a visit to the American legation exhibition. After Morocco, the senior US official will then head to Kuwait, where he will join Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who is already visiting the region.
